This Privacy Policy explains how Character Bible ("we" or "the Service") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you generate, save, or share character reference images on this site. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
What we collect
- Account info: the email address you sign up with, and your encrypted login credential.
- Photos you upload: the seed photos of your character, used to generate reference images.
- Generated content: AI-generated character images, the name you give a character, and outfit/scene descriptions.
- Usage records: your daily generation count (for rate limiting) and basic metadata like when a character was created or saved.
- Login state: necessary cookies to keep you signed in — never used for ad tracking.
How we use this information
- To provide the core feature: generating, saving, and managing your character reference images.
- To maintain account security and login state.
- To enforce daily generation limits, preventing abuse and controlling service cost.
- To improve the product experience (e.g. fixing generation-quality issues).
We never use your information for advertising, and we never sell your personal information or uploaded photos to third parties.
Third-party services
To provide the Service, we rely on the following third parties, which process the images you upload or generate:
- fal.ai (AI image generation): your uploaded seed photos are sent to fal.ai to generate reference images. Once generation completes, we download the images and re-store them in our own storage — we don't rely on fal.ai for long-term retention.
- Supabase (auth / database / file storage): your account information, character data, and image files are stored on infrastructure provided by Supabase.
Additionally, when you upload multiple seed photos at once, your browser runs a local, best-effort "same person?" face-similarity check. This runs entirely in your browser — the photos themselves are not sent to any additional third-party server for this check; only the small model files needed for the comparison are loaded from a public CDN.
Public sharing and the gallery
Characters are private by default — visible only to you. A character's images only become visible to link-holders or gallery visitors once you actively click "Add to gallery" or generate a share link on that character's detail page. You can turn off public visibility, or delete the character entirely, at any time to withdraw sharing.
Reminder: once shared publicly, anyone with the link or visiting the gallery can view that character's images — please don't publicly share a character built from a real person's photo unless you're comfortable with that photo becoming public.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete individual shots or an entire character from your library at any time; we remove the corresponding database records and stored image files as soon as practical. Deletion cannot be undone. For security and compliance purposes, some log records (such as generation-count statistics) may be retained for a period for rate-limiting and abuse investigation.
Minors
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and must not be used to generate depictions of another person — especially a minor — without their consent. If we discover an account engaging in this, we will remove the content and may terminate the account.
Your rights
You have the right to access, export (via zip download / model sheet export), correct, or delete your personal data and generated content. For assistance or other data-related requests, please contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will update the "last updated" date on this page, and we'll try to notify you in-app where possible. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
